My wife sister-in-law and myself went to the Millbrook Cafe for dinner on Saturday evening. Started off with the seared scallops and shrimp cocktail which were both excellent. Then we had the salad which was fresh and crisp. My wife had the full rack of ribs my sister-in-law had the salmon with shrimp and I had the Brazilian lobster tail with scallops and shrimp. All three meals came with excellent vegetables and red potatoes. The shrimp and lobster were cooked to perfection. Service was excellent food was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice I would highly recommend this restaurant I just wish they were open on Sunday.

Visiting from Florida and wanted to enjoy a nice dinner with friends. The moment you enter this restaurant you are met by the owner. She welcomed us as if we were visiting her own home. The ambiance of this place is so relaxing and the food is even better. The chef (her husband) was amazing to watch shifting the food in the stone oven. It was definitely a craft. I had the filet which was cooked to perfection. My wife had the salmon/shrimp which she left nothing on her plate. The homemade cheesecake was a perfect way to finish our delightful meal.

Wow! I had the opportunity to sit at the bar and watch the meals being prepared and cooked. This alone was amazing it was just unbelievable to watch the passion of the chef and synchronization by everyone. I ordered a steak and it was awesome & better than Ruth's Chris or any other premier steakhouses. My other observation was the behavior of entire staff seems to be program for 100% to satisfy the customer. (No Karens's here) Then comes the best part..I did not bring my reading glasses so really did not have the slightest clue what the bill would be for this awesome food, service and atmosphere, It turned out to be less expensive than appetizers and beer at the neighboring pub.

The food is amazing. Wonderful consistency. All food cooked in wood burning oven to perfection. My husband claims he has never had a bad steak and often says when we try other restaurants " It's not as good as the cafe".We have been customers for at least 12 years. Everything Alex cooks is great from fish to lamb to duck to steak is delicious and serve on cast iron dishes which keeps your meal warm to the last bite. His gracious spouse Dominicka is attentive to your every need. The ambiance is cozy warm and inviting especially in the winter with the warm wood burning smell. Our favorite restaurant and we are foodies. Best kept secret in Millbrook, NY.

Think cozy, warm, and inviting. This is my favorite intimate dining spot in the area. My husband says the food is wonderful. They don't have a vegan menu (barely any restaurants around here do), but they are happy to whip something up for me, usually involving sweet potatoes, roasted vegetables and such. The waitstaff is very friendly. We don't go often because often they are full and we forget to make reservations. If you're planning to go, make sure to make one!

What a gem. Superb cuisine with a bistro flair. The crispy duck was the best I ever had. They take their time to make it special here. We are new to the Hudson Valley and are grateful to have a restaurant this special nearby. We hope to become regulars!

Stopped here with a reservation with a friend for dinner. Though you wait a little longer than usual for the foods to come out, it's certainly worth the wait. Appetizers were unique, dinner was great, and the crème brûlée was possibly the best I've ever had. The medium rare char that they achieved on my ribeye was first class and very hard to find. It was so incredibly even and cooked perfectly throughout.

Oh my goodness! If you're ever even close to the area do yourself a favor and have dinner here. Classy place. Reservations are a must because it's so good and small. Everything is cooked old fashioned with wood. So far I've had the chicken breasts, Cajun tilapia, and pork chops. Everything was AMAZING. Great bar as well, my Moscow mules and wine were perfect. Worth the drive, wait, and price. It's 4 star instead of 5 because they didn't have ranch or Italian dressing for the salads, I asked for no onions and got them, and the entire experience was great and high end until you got to the cheap crappy cookies at the dark chocolate dessert fountain. I'm nitpicking though, the place is a must try! Your taste buds will thank you.
